The Ancients: Chapter Four: The gift from Virgo, the Monk.

Written by Peter Ripley (aka Peter Leo on IMVU.COM)

Time Frame: The year of Aquarius ( On Terra-Gemini)

The month of the Lamb.

Our story begins back on Earth, in another reality, and time. The year is 1116 AD, in France, during the first the crusades in Europe. A Franciscan Monk, named Peter De -Virgo  was given an opportunity to spread the gospel to a completely differed world and reality this is his story, from the journal he kept about his adventures...

Peter De'Virgo is the Monk.

De-Virgo: “ The arch bishop approached me while doing my duties in the sanctuary of our church St. Mark's. He handed be a pouch with some scrolls inside, which were copies of the word of God, to be delivered to community not far off from our town, they were starting a congregation there, and needed copies of the Bible to begin their ministry there. So the next day I took my donkey, loaded with supplies for the journey there to the village known as Minsk. It would be a four day journey round trip. All I had to defend myself, and hunt for game was a dagger. Normally, I would spend time during the time of the Christmas holiday helping to prepare the Bishop in preparing for Christmas Eve mass, but this was a nice change of pace for me.

The Arch Bishop send De'Virgo on a mission
to deliver some scrolls to a near by village called Minsk.

So I started on my way not knowing of course where my footsteps would finally lead me, for now it was to Minsk.  As I journeyed there I heard a loud bell ringing, it was coming from a misty field, I looked and saw no bell there, but a dense thick fog. I thought, I was hearing things.  I went on my way and thought nothing of it.  Minsk was a small and friendly village, and the church there was happy to received God's word, they invited me to stay the night because it was close to dusk when I got there.  I inquired about the strange bell I heard no to many miles away from Minsk, the knew nothing about any church bells in the area. So I let it go at that.

De'Virgo encounters a gnome with an offer
to spread the word of God to a strange new
world.

The next day I started for home, and along the way, passing that place I heard the loud church bell, I heard it again. This time I investigated, when I entered the field I saw a thick blue misty fog, with strange lights, blue, and red. When I got there I saw a huge bell standing in the middle of no where, with a small man standing next to it. I heard of mystical beings known as gnomes, but never imagine they were real, and I was about to meet one.

I walked up to him and introduce myself he answered, “ Glad to meet you Peter De-Virgo, my name is Tuck, I was hoping you'd come by and meet me, I have an opportunity for you, to spread the word of your God to a new world, through time and space, to a world that needs God's law, and salvation just like this world, but on this new world there's two suns, and two moons orbiting this world known as Terra-Gemini, a world with your kind, and beings of myths, and wonders, some say it's some kind of dark magic, but it's not. It's real but in a different Universe than ours.”  He went on to say, “ The world maybe strange, skies different than here, but you, and some of your people can start a new life there, but, if you do choose to go, you'll never will be able to return, once there you'll be granted special powers to defend your self and others, also you, and will changed into what ever your heart is, for good or bad.” I answered, “ They'll never believe me, and it does sound like some sort of dark magic, how can I make my superiors believe and understand?” The gnome have me a small stone that allowed me a glimpse in this new word, and handed me a scroll to show the Arch Bishop, so he can see for himself this was no evil plot. Then in parting back to St. Marks, he said, “ You have four days to make your decision, I'll appear again here to see if your people, agree to take this once in a live time chance to spread word of your God.'

When I left the mist, and looked back, the bell, and the gnome vanished!

I reported what happened on my journey, to and from Minsk, to the arch bishop, as expected he thought I might have been possessed by the Devil, or became insane. That was even after I showed him the scroll, and the rock that the gnome gave me, that in its self made the arch bishop I was process somehow and started practicing witch craft, he was ready to call in the guards, and have me thrown in the dungeon,  he called a meeting of the church elders to see if they were going to charge me with witchcraft and burn me at the stake. This was back when anything that the church didn't fully understand was some sort of evil doings.  Our church's montsenior happened to be visiting, and during my “trial” he pointed out to the Bishop that Christ commanded to spread the gospel all over the world, he looked at this as a sign of God to go places where God's word needed to be taught, and not to be afraid of the unknown.

Released from Jail I was granted my mission

It was then I was released from jail, I was brought before the council, there was the arch bishop, and the visiting montsenior, along with a new convert named Esau Pari. Which was interesting, because new converts were never allowed in council decision making, Esau came across as ambitious to me, someone who seem to look for an opportunity to take charge, then again I wasn't a judge of a person's heart, only their actions and deeds.

A wolf among sheep, Esau Peri, put in charge of
security

The Montsenior started, “ Son, we have decided to grant you this mission work, you'll will be in charged with 90 souls, men, women, and children, Esau will be in charge of safety of your flock. Good luck on your journey, sister Monica Benoit, will be your assistant.”

Monica Beniot was a beautiful brunet woman, who just taken vows to be a nun. It was odd to send a young woman who was the age of 30, they didn't send an older woman along to be my assistant, but I welcomed the help no matter whom it was.

My party was ready to leave the next day, and all ninety-one of us traveled to the field where the gnome was to meet us, and as promised the huge church bell in a mist of a fog with blue and green mist it was night when we got there, and there was the gnome waiting for us.  There was Tuck, waiting, he said, “ Welcome travelers, a nice group of people ready to go on an adventure. Now De-Virgo ring the bell three times.”  When I rang the bell, suddenly a door way appeared before us, I was the first one go through the door way, the other 90 people came afterword, we traveled through a tunnel of light, and stars around us until we ended up on a strange new world.

Standing on a new world, my assistant Monica Beniot
helps me settle or people among the Gnomes.

There we stood on a strange new world with the skies above looking different from what we just left, under the night sky we came, there two moons, and a bright star in the night sky. There was snow on the ground, you cold see it under the moon light of the two moons, it was cold, but fortunately there were caves in the hills which we found to seek shelter until the morning. So we made do, we had live stock, and some axes to cut down trees, and make temporary covers for the entry way of the cave, made bonfires near the caves, to provide heat.

As we were preparing to start working on our camp, I saw some torches heading our way, it was a group of gnomes heading are way, from their village just a mile away. The leader of the gnomes offered lodging for my group, but Esau rejected the offer, I didn't and we followed the gnomes to their village and stayed the night in their gingerbread looking houses, it was like a faerie tale village, I almost expecting to find Father Christmas or someone. My assistant Monica Benoit, and I started getting the ninety members group to get settle for our first night.  This didn't sit well with Esau, but he is not in charge of the group, that was something that Esau wanted be in charge, I would find out at the end, and he seemed taken with Monica, something she didn't want, he left a creepy feeling in her that Esau was a dangerous man, which would be proven as time went by.

With help from the Gnomes our colony was established
not knowing at the time what evil is lurking among us.

The next day, the gnomes came with us to our camp, they brought along wagons full of supplies, and food, they even offered to help us build proper shelters for our people. So in the middle of the coldness of winter, they set about building a long house, and other wooden huts to house our people, the strange thing was the wood they were using glowed red, and gave off heat, which made the people warm during the cold winter nights. Most people stayed in the gnome village while the cottages, and long house was being build, it took close to two months to build these houses, and long house which I made as a meeting place for worship, and living quarters for myself. Monica helped our people to settle in their new homes, when they were ready to be moved into.

Despite any impeding doom or trouble our small colony managed to celebrate Christmas on this strange world, the great gift to this world we brought was the gospel, the gift we got was new friends, and new opportunities, for the coming of the new year.” ---End of Chapter 4 of The Ancients
